Inktober Highlights

One reason I’ve been a bit MIA from my blog is because I’ve been doing Inktober this year! I have longingly looked at the amazing drawings for a few years thinking I should’ve done it, so this year I did. Here are some highlights in no particular order:

“Prickly”

“Breakable”

“Star”

(I didn’t follow a prompt on this one; It was posted on John Lennon’s birthday)

“Swollen”

These are some of my favorites. I’ve honestly had so much fun with the challenge of Inktober and the drawing itself, although it certainly was difficult getting them done every day. I’m going to miss you Inktober!!

I’ll be posting more highlights and the best drawings on my illustrations page.

Love and light to you all!

Inspired by Dreamy Luisa Beccaria’s SS18 Line

I’m so into Luisa Beccaria’s gorgeous ethereal, and utterly dreamy SS18 line and I feel very drawn to its soft airy shapes and pretty pastels. It inspired this illustration above. I couldn’t think of a more spring/summer appropriate collection.

Luisa is my new favorite designer and I would get married in either of these two gowns above.

Happy Thanksgiving! / Something to be Thankful for

My favorite part of Thanksgiving as a kid was the assortment of desserts on the dessert table. I would want a piece of everything and somehow get away with it as long as I ate all of my dinner, which I didn’t have a problem with either.

As I grew older I became reflective of the meaning of Thanksgiving as I’m sure many of you did. I began to consciously ponder what I should be thankful for on that day and every day, not just on Thanksgiving. I try to carry that attitude throughout the year even though it’s difficult at times. Nonetheless, I feel thankful today for pumpkin pie, family, and friends, (including all of you), just like I did as a kid.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Fall in LA

Personally, I love wearing scarves, sweaters, hats, and extra layers. Even though it’s not quite fall/winter weather most of the time in LA, when temperatures drop to even 70-80 I take advantage and wear fall appropriate attire, even if it looks like I’m moving to Alaska. This comic is about people like me vs. their sun loving friends. (Very strange people by the way).
