July Boxycharm Review and Christmas in July Glam Bronze Tutorial

Somehow I came up with a holiday look with my Boxycharm this month and I can’t say I’m mad about it. As you all know by now, I’m a fall and winter kinda girl and warm tones make me feel warm and fuzzy inside, like a cup of hot chocolate on a wintry day.

I can’t decide if I like the look I came up with better with an orangey rust lip or bright true red lip but I’ll be wearing both a ton for sure in the coming months.

Crown Brushes’ Fuego Eyeshadow Palette

The highlight of most people’s Boxycharm this month was most likely the Crown Brushes Fuego eyeshadow palette. It got five stars by reviewers on Boxycharm’s website and like many warm toned eyeshadow palettes, it’s impossible to not like. Fuego is an apt name as the shades are pure fire, my favorite being the bronzy red metallic I used all over my lid.

Let’s take a look at how all of the products performed:

Crown Brushes Fuego Eyeshadow Palette

Crown Brushes Fuego Eyeshadow Palette. $29.99

Yes I have tons of similar shadows in my makeup collection, and I’m sure you can find one or two, but considering the retail price is $29.99 and the fact that you’re getting this and three other full size products for & 20, I’m pretty happy with it. The quality of the shadows is excellent and the metallic shades are the most stunning out of the palette. The pigmentation is intense and they are all very blendable. I kind of wish there was a pop of color in the palette but other than that, I can’t complain.

Note Cosmetics Luminous Silk Compact Blusher

As you probably know by now, peachy blushes are so my thing so I was pretty pleased with this one. It’s creamy and so pretty for the summer with dewy skin. You get a pretty big pan size so it’s easy to dip your brush into it and a good amount of product. This retails for $11.99, so again, it’s a steal. Love it.

Dr. Brandt No More Baggage Eye De-Puffing Gel

I’ve heard nothing but rave reviews about Dr. Brandt Skincare. I don’t really need de puffing except for when I don’t catch enough Zs or when I’m super stressed. I tried this under makeup and over moisturizer and I liked how hydrated it made my under eyes feel. The only thing I will say that you should be careful with is warm it up on your hand a bit and don’t rub it or rub concealer in over it unless it’s completely melted into the skin. I tried that and it crumpled into pieces like some primers do. It retails for $42 so I’m stroked to keep trying it and put its claims to the test;

Within minutes, this advanced formula provides a tightening effect and smooths the under-eye contour to visibly reduce the appearance of under-eye bags and dark circles for an immediately brighter, well-rested look. It also works over time to renew the under-eye area for a consistently smooth and improved appearance.”

Hmm, I’m down for that.

Wander Beauty Un lashed Volume and Curl Mascara

Though I low key wanted the Tarte primer other Boxycharmers got, I wasn’t too disappointed with this. I’m not much of a fan of mascara in general, as I only wear it with glam looks, this one gave my lashes just enough volume for everyday but not much length. It’s perfect to throw in your bag for everyday looks.

Love you guys!

Sending you love + light 🌟💕

First Boxycharm + Alamar Cosmetics Reina del Caribe Palette Review and Tutorial

I gave in to my Boxycharm yearnings finally!

I’ve swooned over the Alamar Cosmetics Reina del Caribe palette since I laid eyes on it. My favorite beauty guru, Kathleen Light’s, close friend created it and I’m all for it. It’s an homage to her Cuban heritage and all around a sick palette.

I’m pretty sure a lot of makeup lovers were thinking the same thing I did if they signed up for Boxycharm this June for the first time like me; the box pays for itself as the palette alone is $28. Boxycharm is $21 a month for four full sized products so yes, I was totally in.

The colors are absolutely drop dead gorgeous, totally up my alley, and perform beautifully. They are hyper pigmented and super creamy and blendable.

These alluring summery shades would definitely work on every skin tone. It is clear it was made to do so and a lot of care and thought was behind the making of this product. I love it and can’t say enough good things about it from the packaging, to the shade names, to the quality.

The other products I received were not shabby at all though the palette was my fave for sure. My second favorite was a set of three Luxie brushes, which I’m sure you’ve seen in Boxycharm unboxings. I’ll give you my thoughts anyway.

Luxie brushes are some of my favorite ever, so I was ecstatic to see them in my box. I’m in dire need of some face brushes so I’m living my best life with these. Though two of them do basically the same thing, they are supposed to be used as a foundation brush, a highlighting brush, and a powder brush. I use them both for contouring and blush at the moment, but I’ll have to try them for foundation and powder. I’m very happy overall with them.

Brazilian Bum Bum Cream by Sol de Janeiro

This cult favorite smells absolutely delicious and is extremely creamy and moisturizing. As noted on the Sol de Janeiro website,

Infused with all-powerful caffeine-rich Guaraná extract and a cocktail of Cupuaçu Butter, Açaí Oil, and Coconut Oil, this fast-absorbing cream with our addictive Pistachio and Salted Caramel fragrance“.

I probably would never pay $40 for the full sized product, as you can find similar products for way less, but if it. really tightens the skin as the company claims, it may just be worth it. I’ll have to put this to the test. As addictive as the smell is, it may be worth it just for this.

Jonteblu Eyeliner Pencil

Jonteblu Eyeliner pencil in Charcoal. $5.00

This is the product I was least excited about or interested in. To be honest, I don’t really wear eyeliner anymore. The rare times I do, I prefer a creamy formula and I am not fond of pencils as I find that they’re rough on the eyes. I may just give this to a friend, as overall it’s a pass for me.

Ofra Cosmetics’ Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick in Verona

As a self professed makeup addict, I can’t really call myself one without owning some Ofra, but up until now I hadn’t tried their products but wanted to after hearing so many people rave about them. I couldn’t be more happy, as I think I’ve finally found the only liquid lipstick that doesn’t dry out my lips! This is pretty awesome. The shade is totally me and I need to try out many more by Ofra.

Battington Beauty’s Monroe Eyelashes

Battington Beauty’s Monroe Eyelashes. $28.

Much like with eyeliner, I don’t really wear eyelashes, unlike most beauty addicts. I feel like I’m happy most of the time with my lashes as they’re one thing I was blessed with. (Thank God). Nonetheless, sometimes I want a bit more drama, and though these are on the tame side for most lash wearers, they’ll probably be just right for me.

I am completely happy with my first Boxycharm, and loved every product except for one, which is totally not bad for the value you’re getting. If you’re a makeup lover, there’s no way you’ll be disappointed getting four full sized products for $21 every month. I suggest if you do, you cut back on your regular makeup purchases.
