I got the Friyay feelings early this week. I sometimes wish the outfits I draw would crop up in my closet. Happy Thursday!
I got the Friyay feelings early this week. I sometimes wish the outfits I draw would crop up in my closet. Happy Thursday!
Disclaimer: this post isn’t sponsored by anyone, I just shop a lot. However (!);
As you might know, I’m all about reusing and recycling, and even though spring is upon is and summer is down the road, don’t feel like you have to go out and hunt down a whole new assortment of accessories, shoes, and outfits every time a new season rolls around. If you notice, fashion recycles looks and trends from season and decades past all the time.
You really only need three to four new accessories every season. Here are my current favorites for spring / summer:
A CUTE HAT
Not only will a cute new hat protect your skin and guard your youth against the sun’s rays, but it can make or break an outfit. A floppy hat can take a blah outfit to another level. I’m all for the floppy hat, especially during sunnier days, which is every day during the summer in Southern California. This one below by Asos goes with everything. There are so many iterations of the floppy wide brimmed hat, but the Panama Hat is one of my faves. I like the ring on this one too, because I’m into rings lately for some reason.
If you’re into the super beachy cute straw ones with funny sayings, these below by Etsy shop Sprinkled with Pink are up your alley. You can customize the lettering too, which is awesome.
Newsboy/conductor/fishermen caps are my new thing. I find that they frame the face nicely and they’re just unexpected and cute. The one I’m wearing at the top of the page is by Urban Outfitters and I scored it for $6 because of my app and as it was already on sale for $10. It was one of my happiest moments last week. I’m not entirely sure why it’s $24.99 online though. I’d check your local UO if you want it.
SUNNIES THAT POP
I’m so into translucent colored lenses on my sunnies lately. What they say about rose colored lenses isn’t so far off after all.
I’m also into aviators with colored lenses as I think they add a sexy 70s vibe to spring/summer outfits. I wish I could splurge on Desi x Quay Sahara sunnies below.
These below are too cute and a fraction of the cost.Prettylittlething.us
When fashion people say ‘statement’ or ‘it’ purse I’m not sure if that’s just a marketing tactic, or if they actually attempt making statements with their purses, or consider some as fashionable as an ‘it girl’. Either way, I’m going with it for spring and summer. I’ve been into bright or pastel purses combined with neutrals, or vice versa as of late.
The purse below, by Chloé has been on my fantasy wish list forever. I think it may be where my obsession with rings started.Net-a-porter.com
This is literally one of my paychecks though, so every time I glance at the price my fashion daydreams float back to reality.
This one above by Ali Express is $7.19 and honestly, the way I treat my everyday purses, I have no business spending more than this. I probably will splurge on the Faye bag by Chloé eventually, but I’ll probably store it on a velvet pedestal and take it out once a year.
The super cute pastel bag seen on the Adeam SS2018 runway is so easy to pair with any outfit and super spring-forward. It’d perfect with a camel colored dress. Here are two affordable pastel bags below, by H&M, from their new spring line of purses.
Another trend in bags I’ve been loving lately is the wicker bag, and even though this trend has been going strong for three Spring/Summer seasons, as noted in Refinery 29, I can’t stop fawning over how classic and summery they are.
The one below by Etsy shop Lake of Life is adorable.
These bags make me want to go on a picnic on some idyllic hill with a checkered blanket.
I hope you find some hidden treasures in whatever you already have as well. I can bet that some of the outfits you’ve amassed are still trendy this season. What accessory are you crushing on?
Love you all!
Love & Light 💞💞⚡⚡
Do you ever want to float out of bed and just leave your pajamas on, going about your day comfortably? I love / live for fashion, obviously, but I want to be just as stylish yet comfortable as much as the next girl does. Rompers and jumpsuits just make my life easier because you don’t really have to think about coordinating anything.
Believe it or not, you can wear a romper or jumpsuit literally anywhere.
Case in point.
Unless you have to wear a uniform to work, in which case, I feel for you, you can wear a jumpsuit to work if you work it correctly.😉 Throw a blazer on top and add business casual heel or flats and you’re good to go!
Wearing a black jumpsuit and staying away from anything too revealing during working hours will make this look appropriate enough for your place of business.
To a date
Pair an alluring romper with delicate accessories and booties or lace up sandals for a go-to date night look, a night out out with friends, etc. In swampy weather, you don’t want to wear much else.
To a wedding or special event
This gorgeous jewel color dresses up this shilouette enough for a wedding, bridal shower, bachelorette party, event, etc. A simple pair of rose gold heels and clutch in similar tones are perfect.
At $15, this romper is a steal and pretty much necessary in anyone’s wardrobe. It’s so easy to throw this on an a kimono for lunch. Put son lace up sandals, booties, or Vans and you have an outfit for going out to brunch, lunch, shopping, getting you nails done, anything where casual is the look you’re going for.
As you can see, dressing in disgusting weather doesn’t have to be a hassle. Rompers and jumpsuits make your summer life easy.

Hi lovely readers! Wedding season is well underway, and while it may have some of you shook with excitement as shown below, like me:
It may have some of you wanting to crawl into the nearest hole and die due to not having an outfit, being a bridesmaid, not having a date, not being in a relationship, being in close proximity to a bff turned a bridezilla…etc. As someone who has been in four quinceaneras and one wedding (not that many of my friends are married, but if anyone needs a bridesmaid hmu) I am here to make wedding season a little easier! The key? Looking hot without upstaging the bride on her day.
Think elegant and sexy; no bodycons or crop tops, unless they’re paired with culottes. See below.
Truth be told, I am a sucker for weddings and a mild wedding crasher. I will cry at them all and will jump at the chance to attend them, whether my friendship with the bride and groom (or groom & groom, bride & bride) is questionable or not. I just love being around love. 💕
Here are my 5 outfit ideas:
1. Midi dresss with tasteful slits
This gorgeous one is from the brand Tobi. You will look hot without trying too hard. This cut is is ideal because it exposes just the right amount of skin.
A choker, block heels, a clutch, and a kimono for when night falls are the perfect accessories.By the way, right now everything is 50% off Nasty Gal’s website with code Get50. 😩
2.Drop Waist Dress with Pop of Color
The same hemline makes it possible to show some leg in an appropriate way. This color is so summery and gorgeous too.
Pair the dress a clear, nude, gold, or floral encrusted clutch, strappy heels to elongate your legs and a coral lip for an additional complementary pop of color
3. Off the Shoulder or One Shoulder Jumpsuit
A lot of people forget shoulder cleavage can be sexy. It’s not all about legs or actual cleavage.
Lace up sandals or mules are a perfect shoe choice.
4. High Waisted Culottes & Crop Top
Crop tops can be classy when paired with culottes and dressy accessories. I think this is my favorite outfit out of this list. 💕
These pairs are good culotte options:
5. Tuxedo Dress
Though this dress is certainly sexy, the long sleeves and tuxedo vibe make it dressy enough for a wedding. Gold accessories and a gold clutch would match the luxe vibe.
Those are my suggestions & what I’d wear to summer weddings if I had been invited to to any. (Hint) Get married people! I need to wear these outfits!
If you are a bridesmaid and do not like your dress my suggestion is to customize your accessories to match your personality as much as possible so you’ll at least feel somewhat comfortable with the outfit. If you don’t have a date, wear a cute outfit & find one at the wedding!
Love you all!
Like you, I get tired of the same basic items in my closet, yet I like to be comfy at work and need those basic items. I also would like to avoid spending my whole paycheck every week to look on-trend. Here are 5 ways to upgrade the basic items in your closet:
Bodysuit + maxi skirt
Muted tones tone down the sexiness while the shilouette keeps the look feminine & sexy. Gold layered necklaces would complement the look ideally.
Delicate, beautiful, gold layered necklace from Etsy.com
Simple staple bodysuit from Americanapparel.com
Jeans (any style) & a T-Shirt + mules
Jeans will never get old, but after wearing the same pair to death, they can seem old and routine. Pair yours with a white or cheeky t-shirt and adorable pair of very fashion-forward mules.
Swap out your sneakers for mules.
They also have them in gold 😩💫
Nastygal.com (Cinderella vibes 😍)

A leather jacket & banging sunglasses couldn’t hurt either. Cute outfit found on Pinterest.
Jean jacket + jean dress
Found on Aliexpress.com
I absolutely love denim on denim and I’m a firm believer the all-American material will never get old. Even when it does, it looks sexier, and denim on denim is a chic way to re-wear the jeans items in your closet. A bright lip and chic white sneakers can keep the look tidy and prevent it from being drab.
Does Cara Delevigne keep getting prettier or…? Living for this lip color. 💏
Utilitarian khaki + a pop of color
I love the utilitarian khaki cropping up on SS 2017 runways. You can add a bold lip or eye look as shown here as on the Kenzo runway, or pair a trench jacket with a bold colored dress, top, or pant. A pop of color from accessories like purses or shoes would be cute if you want to keep all clothing in the khaki or olive family.
From Ali express.com
I love the offbeat cuteness of this dress. Plus, let’s save the honey bees! 😊🐝🐝🐝 Extra Tip: Keeping the dress under the jacket in the same color family keeps you from looking like a clown. 😉 Yellow is also everywhere right now.
Sundress or slip Dress +Mesh top
You love that sundress or slip dress you’ve worn a million times, but you can’t wear it again the same way right? That’s okay. Pair a cute on-trend mesh top like the one below by Urban Outfitters under it and you have a chic look for any night out.
Love Urban Outfitters’ mesh tops.
Too too freaking cute. Love this look. Found on Pinterest.com
I hope you enjoyed this post & it gave you some summer outfit inspo.
Have a beautiful day!
I’ve always liked the idea of a timeless gift, and I’ve decided on gifting a gorgeous men’s watch for Valentine’s Day. Even though relationships seem harder to maintain as we go forward into the 21st century, I’m still a firm believer in the timeless art of romance. It isn’t easy, don’t get me wrong, but I still believe in soulmates despite the easiness of Netflix and the aftermath of “chilling” and Tinder. Yes, Valentine’s Day and most holidays and special occasions have been over commercialized beyond belief. That doesn’t mean you can’t use that day as an excuse to say or show or tell your love how you really feel.
Sitcoms, Disney, and rom-coms have taught us to wait around for Prince Charming (I still love you Disney and good job for recent attempts at changing the old fairytale narrative), but it’s okay to take charge and make big romantic gestures ladies! Honestly, yes I want to experience a big romantic gesture like the one shown above, once or twice in my life, but I know I can make one too.
This year I’ve been obsessed with watches, and they’ve quickly become my go to accessory. When Jord asked me to partner with them for a winter campaign I thought, “how appropriate; I genuinely love watches and classic accesories”. The days of watch fobs, overcoats, and fedoras are not over in my opinion. I’m lucky enough to love someone who sees eye to eye with me on this sentiment. I knew then, I’d gift him a gorgeous unique wood watch for Valentine’s Day.
If you’d like to purchase this watch or for any more info on it go here.
Jord is a completely unique company in that they only make luxury, quality, gorgeous wood watches, and they do so better than anyone else. I wouldn’t have written that if I didn’t believe it. The care and dedication to their craft is obvious, which I respect.
Obviously presents aren’t everything in relationships, but as a very visual person who loves fashion, I can’t say I won’t be happy with getting pretty things. I like to do the same for others, because the look on someone’s face when you get them something special is priceless and never gets old.
Also, it’s just fun to have an excuse to go all out sometimes. Think hair did, glam makeup, impeccable ootd.
Love and relationships will never be perfect. That doesn’t mean we shouldn’t pursue big things or be afraid to show how we feel. If you ask me, romance is not dead. Don’t forget, Valentine’s Day is not all about romantic love, but love for your friends, family, neighbor, cat, whoever. As you probably know, we could all use a little extra love sometimes.
I for one, love you all.
Jord was awesome enough to create a contest for all my readers and social media followers! So excited!! All you have to do is enter and you will automatically receive a $25 e-gift card. 😁 Go enter now! Thank you for reading!
