Easy Super Bronzy Smoky Eye + Dirty Little Secrets Cosmetics Shadow Review

bblogger, beauty, Tutorial, Uncategorized

I had been wanting to try Ipsy for so long and hesitated because I’m on a budget, but I realized, I spend way more than $10 on makeup in a month anyway, so rather than do so this month, I subscribed! I’m so ecstatic I did because this shadow below, by Dirty Little Secrets I received this month is among the best I’ve ever tried. I’ll let you know what I thought of the rest of the box soon!

Bronzed Eyeshadow by amazing & very underrated Dirty Little Secrets Cosmetics. Try them out!

It also inspired a very smoky eye look that I think is kinda vampy and sultry and perfect for fall.

I had never done a look this smoky to be honest with you, but I felt empowered to do so because life is short and they’re my eyelids. Might as well put all the smoky eye knowledge I’ve acquired to good use!

I began by priming my lids as usual with concealer. For this look I used Hey Honey’s Trick and Treat Concealer (also in my Ipsy bag this month.

Hey Honey’s Trick & Treat Concealer. 36.00. Ulta.com.

I used the first color, a bone matte shadow, from Wet n Wild’s Au Naturel palette In Nude Awakening to set my lid. I then used the second to last color, a tawny medium toned brown, and concentrated it in the crease and dusted it on whole lid.

The brush that comes in the palette is surprisingly good and very useful by the way. It’s double sided, with a flat side for packing shadow and a fluffy side for your crease.

Wet n Wild’s Au Naturel Palette in Nude Awakening. 6.99.

I used the Dirty Little Secrets shadow, swatched above, with my finger and packed it on the entire lid, concentrating it on the center. The shadow is rich, creamy, pigmented, and a dream to blend out. The ultra shimmery reflects are gorgeous. For $12.00 this is a steal.

The shadow has an extremely unique color and photos don’t do it justice. It’s got a kind of blackish brown base with greenish gold bronzy reflects.

Lastly I used the top two shimmery colors, from Wet n Wild’s Color Icon palette in Comfort Zone. I placed the ivory champagne color and cool light bronzy color on my inner corner and the inner half of my lid.

I tried to find other things that are this cool color and found this cute dress below, which reminds me of the shadow. This look plus I shimmery dress like the one below would be perfect for the holidays and New Year’s, and any night out really when you’re feeling shimmery and disco ball-ish.

Dress from Shoptique. $42.

I had so much fun creating this look! Have you tried Ipsy? A bold smoky eye?

Thanks for reading!
