I’m feeling 50s silhouttes of late, since they’re flattering no matter what. Whether you feel bloated or fabulous, this shape always makes you feel instantly cuter. I also love halloween, and all the happy memories that go along with it, and started brainstorming what to wear to upcoming festivities!
I’m a huge fan of vintage costumes, vintage halloween cards, vintage beauty, etc. I love the old aesthetic that women could be subtle and have curves and be attractive. These pin ups are just too adorable.

This dress is kitschy in a cute way. Perfect for halloween at Disneyland or Tim Burton’s Nightmare Before Christmas Live to Film at the Hollywood Bowl. I want to do both if my bank account can swing it.

I love halloween themed pinups and how much fun people used to have with their costumes, as well as how much creativity went into it since Party City and Amazon didn’t exist.

Some costumes as these above from the 1800s, were actually kind of strange but interesting. Not sure what kind of vibe these ladies were going for.

Kitschy halloween themed poodle skirts and dresses were definitely a trend in the 50s. I find this trend extra cute. I say we bring it back.
It seems most costumes sold today are either really slutty or really scary. Maybe it’s the fun to being slutty or scary once a year. As long as it’s not every day. Well maybe for some. I always leaned towards homemade costumes, thrift store finds, and elaborate makeup. Anyway, have fun this year! I know I will. 😉
