Blogger You Need to Know About: Aleena From The Style Chair

Hello lovely readers! Today I’m proud to announce my latest “Blogger/Vlogger: Spotlight” and it’s on the fabulous, stylish, warm, and beautiful Aleena from The Style Chair. I found her blog via a Facebook group dedicated to fashion bloggers, and I was certainly glad I did! Aleena’s style is very refreshing and fun to admire. She doesn’t shy away from being bold and styles her outfits, hair, and makeup with a chicness that is very original. I asked her some questions to get to know her better and to share them with you; here they are! ๐Ÿ˜‰ :

1. What inspired you to decide to start blogging?

I profesionally am a Hairstylist & a Makeup Artist for the past 8 years! My expertise in my field helped me venture into the world of blogging & now The Style Chair is a year old!ย I have seen alot of blogs that are just pictures of outfits or makeup, through The Style Chair I wanted to give people a blog where they could read & learn about styling, makeup & even an insight how to wear new fashion trends.

Aleena’s deft hands skilled in hair & makeup are obvious in her posts. I like Aleena’s idea of giving style advice to enable readers to learn how to achieve a look instead of just showing them the look.

2. What are your day to day sources of inspiration?
My day to day source of inspiration generally is my mood! My clothes completely reflect my mood. If I’m happy I would actually do florals or graphic prints. On a lazy day I just go for comfort dressing with minimal accessories.

Sound advice for everyone!

3. What city do you consider to be the current capital of the fashion industry and which city would you most like to visit for its style quotient?

I know research says Paris is the most fashionable city but for me New York will always be the most fashionable city! Ever since I first saw Carrie Bradshaw strutting on the streets of New York I knew that city will always be my favourite fashion capital. The next city that fascinates me would be Tokyo for their eccentric sense of style whether it fashion or even with their hairstyles I think they are way forward than anyone of us.

I can totally relate! I’ve loved Carrie Bradshaw’s style & saw myself in her persona from the first time I saw Sex & the City as a teenager, as made obvious by my recent post. ๐Ÿ˜› Love Paris to death, but NYC is definitely up there on my most fashionable cities list. Tokyo’s kawaii style & street style is appealing to me too.

4.ย Has your place of residence, India, informed your sense of style in any way? I am a huge admirer of traditional Indian dressing. Have other countries’ style aesthetics or street style influenced you in any way?

I am a big time accessory lover & somewhere I would attribute that to the Indian traditional dressing. All different states of our country boast of different kinds of attires & Jewellery especially. Whether its house help or a royal family member you will always see accessories on their arms, neck, feet & even forehead. I guess its safe to say we don’t really believe in Simplicity ๐Ÿ˜‰ That said I have actually learnt how to be minimal as far as accessorising is concerned from the West ๐Ÿ™‚

5. Who are your style icons?

My biggest style Icon would be Carrie Bradshaw from Sex & the City & secondly our very own Sonam Kapoor. Another character that will stand to be my inspiration for my golden years would be Meryl Streep from ‘Devil wears Prada’

Love all three! Meryl Streep is such an inspiration to me to not fear growing old.

6.ย How has being a fashion blogger impacted your life as a whole and how much time do you devote to writing posts, taking photos, seeking out inspiration, hunting for outfits, networking, etc.?
When I got into blogging it was like setting foot into a dark tunnel. Slowly slowly as you start writing you learn alot .Initially its very important to take guidance from Bloggers itself who can help you with insights on how blogging works & also very important to be aware of what is happening in the blogging industry.

Being yourself is very important & that’s how you can create a unique sense of style to portray to the world. Going for events in the city & networking is very important for any creative to build their name in the social world too because you never know who might put out your name for something Big ๐Ÿ™‚

7. What are your ultimate goals as a blogger?

My goal as a blogger is to be Consistent & have a niche crowd that follows me for my unique sense of style. I always want a reader to leave my blog with something new whether its a new way to style an outfit or a makeup tip.

8.ย What do you enjoy most about blogging? (Connecting with others, taking photos, styling, html, writing, etc.)

Honestly I’m not the Shakespeare kinds but my favourite part about blogging is Presenting a new post to my readers with different pictures & something unique in every post whether its a new location or a concept altogether ๐Ÿ™‚

9.ย What do you spend most of the portion of your budget dedicated to fashion on? (clothes, accessories, shoes, etc.)
There are months I am a total accessory addict, some times splurging just on makeup & sometimes I go buying 10 new outfits together or even spend a huge some of money on an expensive pair of shoes.

Yes, I can be a bit extreme but well Variety is the Spice of Life ๐Ÿ˜‰ & I absolutely enjoy every aspect of fashion whether its shoes, bags, accessories, makeup or outfits & that’s why I love being a Fashion Blogger.

10.ย What is your favorite social media site?
I love pictures so needless to say I am an IG addict. Completely love Instagram for being able to express myself through pictures ๐Ÿ˜€

At last like I always say ‘Be Yourself & Shine on <3’

Love it! Hope you enjoyed the interview as much as I did and will check out Aleena’s blog if you’re notย already a fan:ย https://thestylechair.comย &ยย ๐Ÿ’•
