With a few wardrobe adjustments, you too can look this fierce.

Spring is the perfect time to step into something a little out of your comfort zone. Have you been wanting to try wearing neons, white jeans, or a crazy new print for a while? Now is your chance!

1. Flower Power– Everything is coming up roses on runways for Spring 2015. Simone Rocha, Max Mara, Michael Kors, and Louis Vuitton have all incorporated the trend in their latest creations. Radiate natural beauty by wearing a statement floral piece such as floral cut-off shorts, like Forever 21’s Crochet-Trimmed Floral Shorts;, or a breezy floral dress adorned with fresh-cut blossoms, such as, Lulu’s Brat Pack Ivory Cutout Floral Print;

Amp up your flower-power by donning real buds in your mane à la flower child. Repurpose old jeans by transforming them into cutoffs and transferring lace floral appliqués or floral pockets onto them, and learn how here: and here: Get a festival-friendly flower crown on, or make your own:

2. Transparent Truths– One of the most alluring trends hitting runways this spring is sheer sheaths such as the ethereal transparent skirts in feminine shapes such as those found on the Tracy Reese and Elizabeth and James runways. Make the trend work-friendly by working a midi-level skirt with just a taste of transparency into your uniform, such as the Elastic Stripe High Waist Sheer Inset Midi Skirt by Express;, and pairing it with a classic white dress shirt and nude pumps that that surely lie in your closet.

3. Graceful Gingham– Gingham has long-been associated with innocence, the 1950s, and all things American. This spring, gingham gets a sophisticated update, and is anything but traditional or reserved. Wear the trend like the models on the Dionne Von Furstenberg, who wore racy gingham wrap dresses that juxtaposed the tame print with a body-hugging fit. Other designers such as Oscar De La Renta updated gingham with color and proportion. De La Renta’s overcoat with a large gingham print in pastel pink could easily be worn throughout next winter, so your money would be well-spent on a similar coat for a lot less, such as Yes Style’s Gingham Double-Breasted Coat; Check out Modcloth’s Singing in Gingham Dress to get a spring-y dress that can be worn into the summer;

4. Scintillating Seventies– This season, the decade that dominated the runways was the 70s, with tactful touches, like juxtaposed brights, fringe, and wide pant leg shapes. Jumpsuits appeared at Dior, Pucci and Ralph Lauren, and billowy hippie-chic dresses graced the runways of Alberta Ferretti, Etro, and Chloé. Gucci’s wide-legged denim and fur vests evoked the spirit of the Laurel Canyon musical mecca. Get inspired by the luxury bohemian trend by wearing a maxi dress like Mango’s Embroidered Long Dress;, and pair it with a fringed vest like Forever 21’s Faux Leather Fringed Vest;, for a look that will defy any decade.
